Day 1 — Woodford Reserve & Castle & Key
Morning: Start with the classic. stay near Woodford Reserve‘s National Historic Landmark distillery is about 8 miles away, typically 12–15 minutes from downtown Versailles, through some of the prettiest horse-farm country in America. Book the first tour of the day — the limestone distillery is at its best before the buses arrive.
Afternoon: Castle & Key, built in the restored Old Taylor castle, is about 11–12 miles away, typically 15–20 minutes via McCracken Pike (the two distilleries are practically neighbors). Reserve tastings ahead; both sell out on weekends.
